Lucifer’s Blackened Burger
The kind of burger that leaves ruin in its wake.

Blackened beef, molten cheese, dark relish, and enough heat to earn its name!
Lucifer’s Blackened Burger is fast food for the damned.
This is pure Hell’s Kitchen energy. A thick beef burger with charred edges, molten cheese, devil’s relish, and a dark glossy bun if you want to really lean into the aesthetic. It should feel filthy in the best possible way.
You’ll need
- 500g beef mince
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 4 burger buns
- 4 slices cheddar or smoked cheese
- 1 red onion sliced
- butter
- lettuce if you want a little crunch.
For the devil’s relish, mix:
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons tomato relish
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- a pinch of cayenne.
Mix the beef with the yolk, Worcestershire, pepper, paprika, and salt. Form into four thick patties and chill them for 20 minutes. Cook the onions low and slow in butter until they’re dark and sweet. Sear the patties in a very hot pan until blackened on the outside and juicy in the middle, then melt the cheese over the top. Toast the buns, spread them with devil’s relish, and stack the burgers with onion and lettuce. Messy is correct here.
